MMS Satellite Fitness Center opens in April
The new McGovern Medical School Fitness Center is slated to open in April with a two-week free trial membership for all UTHealth Houston faculty, staff, residents, and students who have pre-registered.
The 1,800-square-foot space in the MSB penthouse, which has been under construction the past year, will include two single-user restrooms with showers, lockers with programmable daily locks, and exercise equipment, including treadmills, stationary bikes, steppers, Pelotons, rowers, ellipticals, and weight machines for arms and legs.
The grand opening and free two-week trial will begin April 15 for those who have pre-registered.
UTHealth Houston Recreation Center staff will be in the Leather Lounge from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., March 21; March 27-28; April 2-3 (Open House 11 a.m.-noon); April 15 (Grand Opening); and April 24 to share more details/photos of the fitness center and to help those interested register.
April 24 is the deadline for faculty, staff, and residents to enroll onsite at MMS for a paid monthly membership via EFT auto bank draft, effective May 1.
