Dr. Michael Fallon - Ertan Lectureship
Michael Fallon, MD

The Department of Internal Medicine welcomes Michael Fallon, MD, chair in the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Arizona College of Medicine, for the 10th Annual Ertan Lectureship.

Fallon will present on “Complications of Portal Hypertension 2025” beginning at 4 p.m. May 15 in MSB B.500.

Over more than 25 years, Fallon has amassed significant academic medicine experience in extensive patient care, education, leadership, and clinical investigation in internal medicine. Previous roles have spanned several prominent academic medical centers – including as gastroenterology division director and vice chair for clinical research at the UTHealth Houston and GI Fellowship program director at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Fallon has received numerous awards recognizing his accomplishments in academic medicine. These awards have recognized his work in teaching, research, and innovation. Additionally, he has held a number of leadership positions in professional organizations.

The Ertan lectureship is meant to further the education of fellows and faculty at UTHealth Houston as well as the TMC by supporting outstanding gastroenterology leaders from other institutions in sharing their knowledge on gastroenterology and hepatology research and topics.

The experience and perspective of a visiting professor for the annual Ertan Lectureship and their allotment of time and effort are critical for the success of our academic program and of significant benefit to attendees from the TMC.
