Post-Stroke Care Conference set for Oct. 3-4

Post Stroke Care Conference

UTHealth Houston Neurosciences will host the Stroke Transitions of Care and Post-Stroke Care Conference, Oct. 3-4 at Hotel ZaZa Museum District (5701 Main St.).

The conference aims to bring together leaders in stroke care and research, patients, caregivers, and community and industry stakeholders to establish best practices and define priorities for improving stroke transitions of care and post-stroke care. The Post-Stroke Care Conference will serve as a platform for collaborative idea generation, knowledge sharing, and community building within both the scientific and clinical spheres.

Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with experts from multiple disciplines, including vascular neurology, cardiology, rehabilitation medicine, nursing, pharmacy, social work, and more. Informative lectures will cover the current state, latest advances, and health care system needs for transitions of care and post-stroke care.

Additionally, the conference will feature patient- and caregiver-engaged think tank sessions, offering a unique opportunity for all stakeholders to collaborate and drive forward innovative strategies that enhance post-stroke care and outcomes. A special focus will be placed on the perspectives and needs of early career clinicians and investigators, who will have the chance to present their research and ideas on the second day of the conference and receive valuable feedback from an expert panel.

Each session begins at 7:30 a.m. with breakfast, followed by opening remarks and an overview of each day at 8 a.m. The Friday session will conclude at 5:10 p.m., while the Saturday session will end at 12:25 p.m.

The Stroke Transitions of Care and Post-Stroke Care Conference is designed for health care professionals, leaders from hospitals and other organizations dedicated to serving stroke survivors or focused on post-stroke care and stroke systems of care, as well as industry leaders from companies committed to optimizing risk factor control for secondary stroke prevention and recovery. Stroke survivors and caregivers are also invited to attend and share their valuable perspectives.

Registration is open through Friday, Sept. 26. For more information or to register, visit the UTHealth Houston Neurosciences website.
