Reimagining Communications: Elevating Value, Sustaining Excellence

As McGovern Medical School enters a new era in its mission to transform medicine, its communications services are evolving to build on a strong foundation of excellence.
Beginning Dec. 1, a refreshed communications structure will be introduced to further align with the values and mission of UTHealth Houston — ensuring continued impact, clarity, and connection.
For the past 20 years, the Office of Communications at McGovern Medical School has provided outstanding support for communications and design needs. This upcoming shift is designed to make it easier than ever to access the creative resources the school depends on while also cutting costs to you and your department.
Under the updated structure, headshot photography, video and multimedia production, graphic design, and web services will be offered at no cost to departments. To help streamline these adjustments, projects can now be submitted to the updated Request Form. Submissions will be reviewed, and projects will be accepted based on alignment with our university mission, established criteria, and priority level. Additionally, a new scheduling tool is available for photography and videography services, making it easier than ever to book an appointment.
Poster requests will continue to be accepted through Dec. 1. A list of approved alternatives will be provided prior to the transition, including other campus-based design and printing services at UTHealth Houston and recommended external vendors. Pricing through these options will be at or below the rates previously offered. More specific information will be shared as details are finalized.
The new communications model represents a partnership with UTHealth Houston’s Office of Public Affairs and University Web Services in the Department of Marketing and Communications. The collaboration is intended to increase efficiency, enhance services, and strengthen alignment with McGovern Medical School’s mission.
