Registration open for eighth annual Houston Shock Symposium
The eighth annual Houston Shock Symposium will be hosted on March 5-7 at Hilton Americas-Houston (1600 Lamar St.). Registration for the Houston Shock Symposium is free for all attendees.
The Houston Shock Symposium brings together world-renowned experts to share knowledge, discuss challenging cases, and advance shock outcomes for a broad audience of health care providers.
Across 2.5 days, more than 2,500 registrants will hear from more than 130 national and international experts, leading discussions on a wide range of topics and innovative approaches. Attendees also will receive hands-on training in percutaneous MCS device support, large-bore access and closure, and the latest therapeutic devices at the Shock Experiences tables.
The keynote speaker for the 2026 Houston Shock Symposium is Valentín Fuster, MD, PhD, physician-in-chief of Mount Sinai Hospital, president of Mount Sinai Heart, and director of the Zena and Michael A. Wiener Cardiovascular Institute and the Marie-Josée and Henry R. Kravis Center for Cardiovascular Health. Fuster is the only cardiologist to have received the highest research awards from four leading cardiovascular organizations: the American Heart Association, the American College of Cardiology, the European Society of Cardiology, and the Inter-American Society of Cardiology.
The symposium also will again host Shock Jeopardy, where participants can test their knowledge, compete with peers, and enhance their understanding of shock-related topics in a fun, challenging format. Early careerists, residents, and fellows are invited to participate in Shock Jeopardy on March 6. This year, the symposium is launching the first ever nurses and advanced practice providers Jeopardy on March 5.
The Houston Shock Symposium continues to host a dedicated Nursing and Advanced Practice Providers Summit to run concurrently with the symposium. Important topics with national experts will be discussed in four sessions throughout the event’s first day.
Before the final day of the symposium on March 7, participants are invited to join the Houston Shock Symposium 2026 Shock Run, a 5K run or one-mile walk beginning at 6 a.m. Registration for the event is $20 per person, and all proceeds will be donated to support care of shock survivors, including education and research. More information about the Shock Run and registration is available on the Houston Shock Symposium website.
