Becker’s Healthcare names Alleman a 2025 CNO to know
Becker’s Healthcare recognized Kim Alleman, MBA, RN, chief nursing officer at UT Physicians, as one of the nation’s hospital and health system CNOs to know in 2025, honoring leaders who are shaping the future of patient care through innovation and clinical excellence.
The annual list highlights 274 chief nursing officers whose work advances quality, safety, and workforce engagement across health care organizations. Alleman was cited for an approachable leadership style that empowers nurses and advanced practice providers to help shape the care they deliver, while leading with integrity, influence, and a systems mindset.

Her leadership contributed to UTHealth Houston earning the 2024 KLAS Pinnacle Award for Nursing. By leveraging Epic Signal data and strengthening training initiatives, Alleman has helped drive positive clinician and nursing experiences across the enterprise. She also championed the deployment of digital health technologies and predictive analytics to improve patient safety and support real-time decision-making.
Serving as CNO for UT Physicians, the outpatient practice of McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston, Alleman provides enterprise-wide oversight of nursing practice and clinical staff across a large and diverse ambulatory environment. Her responsibilities include clinical education, infection prevention, the float pool and process improvement, ensuring high standards of care, safety, and operational efficiency.
She played a critical leadership role during the COVID-19 pandemic, guiding clinical teams through unprecedented challenges while maintaining patient and staff safety. Alleman is also recognized for integrating electronic health record-based scenarios into simulation training to strengthen clinical readiness and real-world performance.
A strong advocate for shared governance, Alleman established an advanced practice provider council and sponsors monthly nursing leadership forums to help develop future leaders. Her mentorship, focus on workforce satisfaction, and commitment to innovation have meaningfully improved engagement, efficiency, and care delivery across UTHealth Houston.
