2025 Movement Disorder Symposium

McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston will host the second annual UTHealth Houston Movement Disorders Symposium on Saturday, Feb. 21, at the TMC3 Collaborative Building (7255 Helix Park Ave.).

The UTHealth Houston Movement Disorders Symposium will train attendees to recognize and integrate the latest pharmacological, nonpharmacological, and surgical treatment advancements for both hypokinetic and hyperkinetic movement disorders into clinical practice.

Participants will also gain knowledge to identify and manage nonmotor symptoms and neurocognitive impairments associated with Parkinson’s disease, strengthen their ability to debunk common Parkinson’s disease myths, and learn strategies to improve care coordination.

The full-day event begins at 8 a.m. and features eight sessions led by movement disorder experts. The symposium will also include a panel discussion titled “Parkinson’s Disease: Busting Common Myths” and a video rounds session, “Distinguishing Movement Disorders from Mimics.”
