Annual benefits open enrollment starts July 15

Mark your calendars. The FY27 annual benefits open enrollment for UTHealth Houston employees is July 15-31.

During open enrollment, benefits-eligible employees can review and update their benefits elections without a qualifying life event. This is also an opportunity to update dependent and beneficiary information, re-elect UT FLEX, and enroll in new lifestyle benefits before the new plan year begins Sept. 1.

Faculty and staff can log in to My UT Benefits (external link) using their UTHealth Houston username and password to review current elections, make changes, add or remove dependents and beneficiaries, and switch plans for the FY27 year.

Employees enrolled in the UT SELECT medical plan are also encouraged to schedule their annual appointments through the UT SELECT Concierge to help stay on top of preventive care and recommended health exams.

Important reminders

If no changes are made during the open enrollment period, current benefit elections will continue into the new plan year.

The UT FLEX program does not roll over automatically and must be re-elected each year in compliance with IRS regulations.

Benefits and Wellness Fair July 10

Employees are invited to the World-Class Benefits and Wellness Fair (external link) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, July 10, in the fifth-floor banquet room at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston.

The soccer-themed event will connect employees with the Benefits team, retirement vendors, and wellness partners before annual benefits open enrollment begins. Representatives from the Office of Faculty Affairs, Development Committee, and UTHealth Houston schools also will be available.
