Special Guest for Grand Rounds, October 11th

Join us for a special Grand Rounds Presentation by Wesley Moore MD, as he presents on “Carotid Endarterectomy vs. Carotid Stenting: Current Status”.  Dr. Moore serves as the professor and Chief, Emeritus of the Division of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery at the UCLA Medical Center. Dr. Moore will be presenting on the morning of Friday, October 11th, 2019 at the McGovern Medical School, Room 2.103.

At the conclusion of the session, participants should be able to:

  • Discuss the difference between transcarotid artery revascularization (TCAR) and transfemoral carotid stenting (TF-CAS)
  • Explain the stroke morbidity/mortality risk of carotid endarterectomy (CEA)
  • Explain the stroke morbidity/mortality risk of carotid artery stenting (CAS).

Physicians, residents, fellows, and community physicians need to be regularly updated with clinical guidelines, technological innovations, and health system QI process changes in cardiothoracic and vascular surgery so they can implement them in clinical practice to enhance the quality of care improve patient outcomes.

Educational methods will include lectures, case presentations, and panel discussion.

Participants will be asked to complete a session evaluation.
