Advanced heart failure fellowshipAdvanced Heart Failure and Transplantation Cardiology Fellowship

Our Advanced Heart Failure and Transplantation Cardiology Fellowship is a one-year, ACGME-accredited program. The goal of the program is to provide comprehensive training in diagnosing and managing advanced heart failure, emphasizing tailored therapies for individual patients. Fellows will gain experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings, covering all aspects of heart failure from asymptomatic to severe cases. Training includes medical management with hemodynamic monitoring, electrophysiological therapies, surgical interventions, and understanding the psychological and social impacts of chronic heart failure.

Cardiac Electrophysiology FellowClinical Cardiac Electrophysiology Fellowship

Our two-year Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology Fellowship offers comprehensive training in cardiac electrophysiology, including complex mapping, ablation procedures, device implantation, device extraction and resynchronization, and troubleshooting. Fellows participate in a high volume of procedures for various tachycardias and gain experience with advanced mapping systems and new therapies. The program includes twice-weekly didactic conferences and a monthly journal club for reviewing current EP literature.

Cardiothoracic Surgery FellowshipUTHealth Houston/MD Anderson Cardiothoracic Surgery Fellowship

Through a collaborative effort between the UTHealth Houston and MD Anderson Cancer Center, we offer a comprehensive two-year training program centric to either general thoracic or cardiothoracic surgery. One candidate for each of the two tracks are selected each year to train in the world-renowned Texas Medical Center at MD Anderson Cancer Center and Memorial Hermann Heart and Vascular Institute. Both systems are internationally recognized for their innovative research, education, and surgical treatment of disease.

Our three-year ACGME-accredited Cardiovascular Disease fellowship offers comprehensive training in general cardiology across four hospitals, exposing fellows to diverse pathologies and practice settings. Fellows participate in didactics, conferences, and subspecialty training in interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, advanced heart failure, and cardiovascular disease research. The program aims to provide clinical training under expert faculty guidance, preparing fellows for independent practice and meeting ABIM Cardiovascular Disease board exam requirements.

Our Vascular Surgery Fellowship is an ACGME-approved, two-year program exposing trainees to a full range of open and endovascular procedures. Fellows work directly with internationally recognized surgeons, learning advanced surgical techniques, and diagnostic skills in MR, CT, and ultrasound, and gain clinical expertise. Fellows enhance their knowledge, judgment, and skills through daily interactions with faculty in clinics, wards, operating rooms, research studies, and didactic conferences.
