The Palliative Care clinic evaluates and treats patients requiring pain and symptom management related to a life-threatening illness such as cancer, advanced organ failure, and advanced neurological disease. Palliative specialists aid the patient and family through difficult decision-making associated with end-of-life issues to ensure clear communication and goal-concordant care.

Palliative care includes non-pharmacological and pharmacological management of difficult-to-treat symptom complexes with the goal of maintaining the patients’ treatment goals and his/her quality of life.
