Congratulations to Naahanna Bryan Akahara, who was selected for the 2022-23 cohort of the UTHealthLeads fellowship program. The one-year fellowship aims to develop future leaders in healthcare by developing their self-awareness and increasing their leadership confidence to influence systems effectively. Four students from each of UTHealth Houston’s six schools are selected annually for the program.

Akahara is currently a third-year medical student who is also a member of the McGovern Center’s Medical Humanities Scholarly Concentration.
