Biography
Deborah Franklin is Associate Professor in General Practice and Dental Public Health at the UTHealth School of Dentistry. Dr. Franklin directs the Clinical Humanities Certificate Program and Beyond Silos electives for dental students who want to incorporate the humanities into their training and future practice. The three Beyond Silos electives—Art of Observation, Ethics: Historical Lessons, and Suffering: Pathographies of Mental Illness—are interprofessional and bring together students of dentistry, medicine, and nursing.
