TEACH-S poster by QEP team members wins 3rd place

Center members Angela Gomez, EdD, MBA, MS, and Jessica Wise, MPH, PhD(c), presented a poster at the 2024 Texas Educator’s Academies Collaborative for Health Professions (TEACH-S) Educational Symposium in Galveston, TX, on May 3 about the digital learning efforts used to deliver UTHealth Houston’s Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP). Known as Healthcare Policy for Health Professionals (HP2), the QEP is a five-year initiative to enhance student learning about health policy.

The poster, “Adapting Quality Enhancement Plan Activities for the Online Environment,” was awarded 3rd Place in the poster competition and was coauthored with Susan Fenton, PhD, RHIA, FAHIMA, a member of the QEP team representing McWilliams School of Biomedical Informatics. Gomez is a faculty member of the McGovern Center and co-directs the QEP. Wise is a predoctoral fellow with the McGovern Center and QEP, managing the educational activities’ instructional design and implementation efforts.
