The McGovern Center is excited to invite you to visit the Leather Lounge and contribute to our interactive coloring book mural, “A History of Healing: From Past to Progress” created by Laura Spector, Artist-in-Residence. This mural, commissioned in honor of the 20th anniversary of the McGovern Center for Humanities and Ethics, offers a unique opportunity to engage in a collaborative exploration of medical history.
Designed to be a “cabinet of curiosities,” the mural features imagery ranging from ancient medical illustrations to modern scientific advancements, including medicinal plants, historical instruments, anatomical models, and contemporary technology. We encourage you to stop by, take a moment, and use the provided acrylic markers to add your personal touch to this evolving artwork.
Please note: only the markers provided are to be used for coloring to preserve the integrity of the mural.
Whether you’re an artist at heart or simply curious about medical history, this mural offers an opportunity for all of us to reflect on and contribute to the ongoing story of medicine.
