Two new artists will present talks as part of Arts and Resilience.

On January 27, Lisa Cain, PhD, will present an inspiring session discussing her art. Cain is a self-taught memory painter whose vibrant folk art style celebrates the joy and culture of growing up in Canton, MS. She is also a distinguished academic leader, as Associate Vice President of Faculty Affairs and Development at UTHealth Houston and Professor at the School of Dentistry. Cain’s talk will begin at Noon on Zoom. Register for Lisa Cain’s talk

Mark Chen will present “Pilgrimage of Light” on March 27 at Noon via Zoom. Chen’s art takes him to remote wilderness sites, where he projects galactic imagery directly onto the land, temporarily transforming vast natural spaces before capturing them through photography. His talk will be a rare behind-the-scenes look at the intersection of art, science, and the unknown. Register for Mark Chen’s talk
