Laura Spector is a Houston-based artist best known for her Museum Anatomy project, which began in 1996. She currently resides in Houston, teaching painting and drawing from her studio and at the Glasscock School of Continuing Studies at Rice University.

Anson Koshy, MD, MBE, was the McGovern Center’s artist-in-residence from 2022 to 2024.
Koshy’s work ties personal and professional experiences to persona, celebrity, fashion, design, and symbols, weaving a narrative that connects to both sitter and artist. His work has been featured in supporting local non-profits, including The Arts of Healing, the Sunshine Kids, and Avenue CDC. He has participated in group shows in Houston, and his work is featured in national publications. He previously held a faculty role with the McGovern Center for Humanities and Ethics, serving as a sponsor to the museum-based education elective, Art of Observation, directed Arts and Resilience from 2022 to 2024, and taught seminars on art and storytelling, artivism, and more. Koshy is Division Chief of Developmental Pediatrics at the Children’s Hospital of Richmond at Virginia Commonwealth University.
