Freda Washington, RCM, DII
Freda Washington was recently promoted to (RCM) Revenue Cycle Manager for the (DII) Diagnostic and Interventional Imaging department. Freda has worked for UT in one capacity or another since 1992. Freda truly enjoys the work she does, and loves working for the Department of Radiology.
She has twenty-eight years of experience with increasing responsibility in Radiology compliance, research and billing cycle operations. She has spoken at the Clinical Coordinator’s Meeting to provide feedback on how the research charges are processed , and how their role impacts the billing process.
Freda has obtained the following credentials:
- San Jacinto College: Microsoft Office Certificate
- Houston Community College: Current Procedural Terminology
- AAPC: CPC (Certified Professional Coder)
On a more personal level, Freda was born in Idabel, Oklahoma. However, she was raised in Houston. She comes from a large family with four sisters and one brother. Freda is the mother of one, and soon to be a grandmother!
Freda is a huge Star Trek fan. If she could, she’d go where no man has gone before! She finds space fascinating! She also enjoys reading and bird watching. Her passion, though, is singing and directing the children’s choir and play productions at her church. Being a Christian, she values kindness, hard work, determination and generosity to others.
