Dr. William Yao Named a 2020 Texas Super Doctors Rising Star

William C. Yao, MD, was named by his peers among Super Doctors Rising Stars® in Texas for the third consecutive year. Following an extensive independent nomination and research process, the results were published online at www.superdoctors.com. The Super Doctors Rising Stars List celebrates the best doctors in Texas who have been practicing 10 years or fewer.

“I am honored and humbled to be named a Texas Super Doctors Rising Star,” says Dr. Yao, an assistant professor in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth. He serves as a co-director of the department’s Rhinology and Skull Base Fellowship and is associate director of the Otorhinolaryngology Residency Training Program.

“I appreciate very much that my colleagues and peers hold me in high esteem as a rhinologist and anterior skull base surgeon.”

Dr. Yao has a strong interest in residency education, including the development of teaching instruments. Fluent in English and Japanese, he is the author of chapters in many textbooks, as well as numerous articles published in peer-reviewed journals. His clinical interests are chronic sinus disease and advanced endoscopic sinus, skull base, and orbital surgery.

Dr. Yao has been named among Super Doctors Rising Stars since 2018.
