David Allen, MD, now a chief resident in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston, was recognized with two poster awards at the American Head and Neck Society (AHNS) meeting held in Chicago in May as part of the Combined Otolaryngology Spring Meetings.
Dr. Allen received two AHNS Best Research Awards in the category “Skin, Salivary, and Rare Tumors” for his presentations entitled “Characteristics Influencing Distant Metastasis in Olfactory Neuroblastoma: A Retrospective Cohort Analysis” and “The Impact of Neoadjuvant Immunotherapy on Advanced, Resectable Peri-Auricular Cutaneous Squamous Cell Carcinoma: A Matched Comparison.”
“Dr. Allen should be commended for his academic pursuit of research,” said Martin J. Citardi, MD, Professor and Chair of Otorhinolaryngology. “These awards serve as recognition of his dedication to research as a way to advance care delivery.”
