Operating Experience: The fellowship at McGovern School of Medicine is a comprehensive fellowship designed to prepare the fellow for a career in both academic medicine and private practice. Cosmetic and Reconstructive surgery are emphasized equally. At the completion of fellowship, the fellow will gain competency in the following areas:

• Rhinoplasty
• Oculoplastic Surgery
• Aging Face as well as minimally invasive treatments
• Facial Reanimation
• Microvascular Reconstruction
• Trauma

Research: The fellow will participate in a research project in the Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery topic of interest. A manuscript for publication will be prepared by the completion of the fellowship year. The fellow will work closely with faculty mentorship to complete this research project.

Teaching Responsibilities: The fellow will be an instructor in the Otolaryngology Department. As such, there will be some teaching responsibilities with respect to resident education in the clinic and the operating room. In addition, the fellow will participate in occasional resident didactics, journal club and will give one grand rounds presentation to the department.

Case Load: The fellow will keep track of all cases performed during the year.

Call Responsibilities: The fellow will be expected to take home call, approximately 1 weekend every 3 months with occasional weekdays or weeknights totaling about 1 week every 3 months.
