Research Mission

The Department’s research efforts drive the innovation necessary to provide tomorrow’s advances. We engage in both basic science and clinical translational research focused on:

  • Understanding how environmental triggers such as fungi activate molecular and cellular pathways important in driving inflammation of the respiratory mucosa using both human cell and animal model systems with the goal of identifying novel therapeutic targets
  • Investing the efficacy of various treatment options for chronic rhinitis and rhinosinusitis

The ultimate goal of our endeavors is to promote the health and quality of life for our patients with respiratory chronic inflammatory disease.
