Residency Program

Welcome from the Program Director – Nikola Dragojlovic, DO

Thank you for your interest in the McGovern Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation Residency Program. We are an ACGME-accredited, categorical (4 year) program based in the Texas Medical Center. The Texas Medical Center is home to some of the preeminent hospitals in the United States. Our department has a rich history of affiliation with institutions like TIRR Memorial Herman, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, Harris Health, and Memorial Hermann, home to the country’s busiest Level I trauma center.

We are committed to offering a broad and comprehensive education in physiatry, in an environment that values collegiality and patient-centered care. Our residents are bright, hard-working, and help lead our department’s mission to provide high-quality physiatric care to all. As program director, I value the input and contributions of our residents and strive to ensure our curriculum grows with them. They reflect the diversity of our home, too. Houston is a fast-growing, urban city with Texas charm and an easy-to-enjoy lifestyle.

The PM&R faculty at McGovern are accomplished educators and clinicians. Our program provides ample opportunities for research, including a faculty-led Quality Improvement curriculum. Our didactics drawn upon the talent of rehabilitation physicians and other clinicians across the Texas Medical Center.

Our alumni network is vast, crossing all subspecialties of rehabilitation medicine and all clinical settings, and our graduates are highly sought after for fellowship and employment positions.

We have one common goal: to train the next generation of leaders in Physiatry.
