Ian Davis
Ian is a Community Health Education Specialist and he graduated with academic distinction with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Saint Thomas. Ian furthered his education at Texas Woman’s University where he received an Executive Master of Business Administration.
Ian previously worked at the Harris Center for Mental Health & Individuals with Developmental Differences as a Rehabilitation Clinician for nearly eight years and was instrumental with cleaning up the homeless problem in Houston. His efforts to house the indigent and promote affordable access to medical care to combat social barriers that disproportionately plague communities of color and districts of limited resources resulted in preserving countless lives and saving the state of Texas over 3 million dollars annually.
Further accomplishments include receiving the Mary E. Gilder Man of Courage Award, The Ashley Jadine Foundation for Outstanding Community Service in the Field of Mental Health Award, publishing a book, and increasing students’ grade point averages to 3.5 from 2.0. Ian made guest appearances on the Ferrell E. Phelp’s Show and has spoken, volunteered, or emceed for several organizations including Interfaith Ministries Meals on Wheels, Windsor Village United Methodist Church T3 Health & Wellness Event, the Links Incorporated Conference, the National Kidney Foundation, and he was the keynote speaker for the Ashley Jadine Foundation Celebration of Life Event focusing on suicide prevention.
Ian survived a suicide attempt that sparked an undying passion to help people who are suffering from similar issues, and he aspires to be a catalyst for eradicating the stigma of mental illness and creating a safe environment for people who struggle with it who may feel their voices do not matter.
