Center for Behavioral Health Equity and Outcomes Research

The UTHealth Houston Center for Behavioral Health Equity and Outcomes Research at McGovern Medical School aims to be an internationally recognized leader in behavioral health equity and outcomes research. The Center promotes health equity for vulnerable and underserved populations by advancing scientific knowledge through health outcomes research, engaging with community members and community-based organizations, generating evidence to promote change in health policy and practices, and educating and training clinicians and researchers in the use of evidence-based practices.

The Center aims to reduce behavioral health disparities through the development of evidence-based strategies for behavioral health prevention, promotion and the delivery of appropriate care. The Center will leverage its partnerships with health care systems, state and local governments, academia, national and community-based organizations, and communities to translate research into practice.
