Deep Brain Stimulation Therapy for Treatment Resistant MDD

In DBS for TRD a neurosurgeon implants a small electrode in the brain that delivers electrical stimulation to an area of the brain. The purpose of the study is to obtain a preliminary indication of the feasibility, safety and efficacy of DBS in the new site, supero-lateral branch of the medial forebrain bundle (slMFB).   • Adults, ages 22-65
  • Suffering from Treatment Resistant Depression (not responding to current treatment, ECT and therapy)
