When did you join UTHealth Houston? What brought you here?
I first worked for the Trauma and General Surgery Clinic at UT Physicians from 1996 until 2006. Then, I took a position with Houston Methodist Hospital in 2006 to help start their Surgical Residency program. I returned here (home) in August 2013 and worked as assistant nurse manager for Acute Care Surgery. When I started, it was Trauma, Emergency General Surgery and Burns.
Tell us about your work history here.
I have been the nurse manager and clinic nurse for the last 10 years

What do you enjoy most about your work?
I love communicating with the patients, trying to figure out their needs and helping my physicians to provide excellent follow-up care.
Why have you stayed?
I have stayed because I love being a nurse and love helping our patients.
When you are not at work, how do you spend your time?
I love spending time in my flower garden, growing different types of flowers. After I retire, I hope to expand to growing vegetables as well.
