Potential Applicants
The McGovern Medical School Division of Urology uses a holistic approach to review applications and values applicants with diverse backgrounds. Our program hosts two (2) virtual open house sessions for all prospective applicants who express interest in learning about our program. We also host two (2) meet & greet sessions for interviewing applicants the night before the interviews.
We have a mentorship program for trainees that focus on individual needs and interest, create safe and equitable learning environments that target individual trainee needs, and have both faculty and residents from various cultures, geographical backgrounds, and specialty interest. There are resources and links that the Medical School provides which include other resources and articles that we use for teaching. The Medical School and GME Office sponsor second-look visits for the Underrepresented Population.
