Ingredients
- 1 Tbsp canola oil
- ¾ lb lean ground beef
- 1 ½ cups water
- 1 cup elbow macaroni, uncooked
- 1 (15-oz) can low-sodium diced tomatoes, drained
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- ½ tsp garlic powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- ½ cup (4 oz) cheddar cheese, shredded
Recipe Directions
- In a large skillet, heat oil over medium heat until translucent, about 2 minutes.
- Add ground beef to skillet, and cook for about 5 minutes. Stir as it cooks, and break up any large pieces.
- Drain fat. Add water, noodles, tomatoes, and seasonings to skillet with the beef. Stir well.
- Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer, uncovered, for 15-20 minutes or until noodles are tender.
- Remove from heat, and mix in cheese. Serve warm.
