Aortic Nursing Symposium set for March 15
The Fifth Annual Houston Aortic Nursing Symposium will kick off the Houston Aortic Symposium Frontiers in Cardiovascular Diseases March 15 at The Westin Oaks (5011 Westheimer Rd.).
The event begins at 11:30 a.m. with registration and a buffet lunch and closes with a reception in the hotel grand foyer at 5 p.m. A full schedule of events can be found here. Registration for the event can be found here.
After attending the symposium, participants should be able to:
- Discuss the different endovascular treatments of aortic aneurysm
- Explain the fundamentals of management of patients with repair
- Describe how to manage lumbar drains in open and endovascular patients
- Describe the treatment of patients with aortic dissection
- Review the new AHA guidelines for the medical management of aortic disease
- Explain the different surgical approaches for carotid disease
- Describe some of the more common central venous disease pathways
- Explain MALS and the surgical treatment
- Review lower extremity US and how to read the report
- Review the new results from the BEST – CLI trial
The Aortic Nursing Symposium leads into the Houston Aortic Symposium which will be held March 16-18. The symposium is designed for vascular surgeons, cardiothoracic surgeons, interventional radiologists, cardiologists, anesthesiologists, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, perfusionists, and other health care professionals involved in the care and treatment of patients with aortic diseases.
