AME welcomes newest induction class

2022 Academy of Master Educators (AME) Induction Class

The McGovern Medical School Academy of Master Educators (AME) has selected 13 faculty as its 2022 induction class.

The 2022 AME inductees are as follows:
Ben Barnett, MD, FACP, FIDSA, professor and J. Ralph Meadows Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine
Amber Campbell, MD, MS, assistant professor in the Department of Anesthesiology, Critical Care, and Pain Medicine
Nadia Hernandez, MD, FASA, associate professor in the Department of Anesthesiology, Critical Care, and Pain Medicine
Jenny Duret-Uzodinma, MD, associate professor in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences
Randa Jalloul, MD, associate professor in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences
Shivika Chandra, MD, assistant professor in the Department of Neurology
Thy Nguyen, MD, associate professor in the Department of Neurology
Monaliza Evangelista, MD, associate professor in the Department of Pediatrics
Emma Ferguson, MD, professor in the Department of Diagnostic and Interventional Imaging

“The Academy of Master Educators exists to provide a home for the community of educators at McGovern and is considered a symbol of our school’s commitment to its educational mission,” said Vineeth John, MD, chair of the Academy of Master Educators. “The 2022 AME member group represents outstanding exceptional role models and innovators in the realm of medical education.”

A symbol of McGovern Medical School’s education mission, the AME serves to foster institutional and faculty activities related to the mission of undergraduate and graduate education. The academy is dedicated to recognizing, developing, and promoting outstanding faculty educators and supporting excellence in undergraduate and graduate teaching while improving curriculum and advancing educational scholarship.

“The academy offers a valuable platform to network and collaborate with nationally renowned educational leaders,” John said. “We are always on the lookout for motivated and dynamic faculty to join the academy.”

The selection process for the 2023 induction class for the Academy of Master Educators is currently underway.
