Registration open for Research Retreat
Registration is open for the McGovern Medical School Research Retreat. The annual event will be held March 5 in the Sarofim Research Building at the Brown Foundation Institute of Molecular Medicine (1825 Pressler St.).
The event begins with registration at 8:45 a.m. with the first symposium featuring four lectures set to start at 9:15 a.m. After a short break, Julianne Holt-Lunstad, PhD, director of the Society, Behavior, and Health International Studies Program and professor of Psychology and Neuroscience, at Brigham Young University, will present the Ernst Knobil Distinguished Lectureship, serving as the keynote address, on ”Social Connection and Health: Past, Present, and Future.”
The postdoctoral symposium will follow the keynote address with four more lectures beginning at 11:50 a.m., followed by lunch and the Graduate Student Education Committee Poster Session. Awards will be presented for exceptional presentation. Abstract submissions for the poster competition are due by Friday, Feb. 16.
The retreat concludes with four more lectures in the day’s second Breakthrough Discovery Symposium followed by the poster competition awards presentation to wrap the event.
