Women’s Health Collaborative Workshop set for Dec. 10



Women's Health Collaborative Workshop

The McGovern Medical School Research Committee will host the Women’s Health Collaborative Workshop on Tuesday, Dec. 10 in MSB 3.001.

The event will be held from 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. and will feature keynote addresses from Kathryn Gray, MD, PhD, director of the Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine at the University of Washington, and Maggie Mullen, MD, MSCI, assistant professor of gynecologic oncology at Washington University in St. Louis.

The Women’s Health Collaborative Workshop focuses on promoting interdisciplinary research in women’s health. It brings together experts in various fields of women’s health for a day of learning and collaboration. Presentations will address cardiovascular health across the lifespan, sex differences in stroke, metabolism in neonates with congenital heart disease, and updates in breast and ovarian cancer treatments.

Attendees will engage with emerging research and strategies to address health disparities and promote leadership in the medical field. Additional speakers for the event include Rana Afifi, MD; Tina Findley, MD; Hui-Wen Lo, MS, MA, PhD; Kathrin Millbury, PhD; Anjail Sharrief, MD, MPH; Bindu Akkanti, MD; Yen Chi Le, PhD; Louise McCullough, MD, PhD; and Elizabeth Nugent, MD.
