The McGovern Medical School Arts and Resilience Program returns to welcome Dina Brodsky, a renowned miniature painter and curator, for a virtual event at noon Nov. 14 via Zoom.

Brodsky is a contemporary realist miniaturist, painter, and curator. She was educated at the University of Massachusetts Amherst and the New York Academy of Art, where she received her Master of Fine Arts degree. Brodsky has taught privately at several institutions, including the Truro Center for the Arts at Castle Hill, the Long Island Academy of Fine Art, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Brodsky has had solo exhibitions in Massachusetts, New York, Florida, and the United Kingdom. She has also participated in group exhibitions across the United States and internationally in New Zealand, Puerto Rico, France, Germany, Romania, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom.

Additionally, Brodsky co-hosts “The Art Grind” podcast with Marshall Jones and Tun Myaing, friends and colleagues from the New York City art world. The podcast is for artists who miss late-night studio conversations about art, the universe, and everything else. It features in-depth interviews with artists and gallery directors who share insights on what it takes to survive and thrive as contemporary artists.

Since its inception, the Arts and Resilience Program has welcomed highly accomplished fiction writers, musicians, actors, painters, poets, and filmmakers to engage with members of McGovern Medical School and the UTHealth Houston communities. The program is sponsored by the Dean’s Office in collaboration with the McGovern Center for Humanities and Ethics. For more information, visit the program’s website.
