Nominations open for Global Health Initiatives’ research faculty award
The Office of Global Health Initiatives is accepting nominations through May 6 for the Global Health Educational Innovations and Research Faculty Award.
The Global Health Educational Innovations and Research Faculty Award supports and promotes a wide range of scholarly activities in global health, including the development of educational curricula, technologies, interventions, or basic science research applicable to the field. This includes projects that impact both international populations and local groups.
The award provides up to $12,000 depending on the project’s total budget and can be used for materials, technology support, data evaluation, a research assistant, and travel expenses. UTHealth Houston instructors, assistant professors, or associate professors are eligible to apply.
Proposals will be evaluated based on their relevance to global health, alignment with the Office of Global Health Initiatives’ Guiding Principles for Global Health, and their potential to establish or strengthen a sustainable research or educational program at UTHealth Houston.
Award recipients will be expected to share their findings at school- and institution-level meetings within two years of receiving funding. Results from funded projects should be presented at regional, national, or international meetings and submitted for publication in a peer-reviewed journal or educational website within two years of funding. Awardees must also submit both a progress report and a final report detailing expenditures at the conclusion of the project.
