Brian Dean appointed UT System executive vice chancellor for health affairs

As you have seen in recent announcements from UT System (external link) and President Melina Kibbe (external link), Brian Dean has been named Executive Vice Chancellor for Health Affairs for The University of Texas System. This appointment recognizes the outstanding leadership Brian has brought to UTHealth Houston and the impact he has had across our broader university system.
Brian will continue to serve as Executive Vice President for Health Affairs at UTHealth Houston, remain closely engaged with our practice plan, and stay fully invested in the priorities we have set for UT Physicians and our clinical enterprise. This new role builds on the leadership he already provides to our institution while extending his expertise across the UT System. Our strategic direction and momentum remain strong, and we look forward to the opportunities this expanded leadership role will create for both UTHealth Houston and our System partners.
Please join me in congratulating Brian on this well-earned appointment. I know he looks forward to continuing to work alongside all of you as we advance our ambitious agenda for UTHealth Houston. As always, feel free to reach out to me, Brian, or our clinical leadership team with any questions you may have.
