Caught Between Rounds

Derek Dawes, MD, his wife Courtney, and two kids, Brayden and Medelyn, navigated around Iceland in a manual transmission RV. Along the way, they saw countless waterfalls, Mars-like landscapes, puffins, whales, and even the rare sight of their kids awake before 10 a.m.

From hiking among the snow-covered peaks of the Swiss Alps and exploring the rugged landscapes of Iceland and Utah to scuba diving beneath the waters of Grand Cayman, members of the McGovern Medical School community made the most of their summer travels. This week’s McGovern Recharge highlights adventures spent exploring new places, celebrating milestones, reconnecting with nature, and making memories with family.
