Human Ties Digest, the student-edited annual digest featuring written and visual creative works from members of the UTHealth Houston community, has issued its latest call for submissions for the 2027 issue. The issue theme is Currents, meant to describe our journeys with familiar or new paths, unexpected changes in direction, and the ways change can be restorative or instructive on teaching us how to let go.
Submissions should be 1,000 words or fewer (longer pieces will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis). Each submitter may upload a maximum of 3 original works (written or visual). Written works include poems, short stories, and reflections, while visual works may include paintings, illustrations, photographs, and digital artworks.
Submissions are due by January 17, 2027, via Google Form (external link).
