CSF Collection Protocol

  1. Collect at least 12 mL of CSF samples in polypropylene tubes in the morning following lumbar puncture at the L3-L5 interspace with atraumatic needles after overnight fasting.
  2. Discard if CSF samples contain more than 500 red blood cells/µ
  3. Centrifuge the samples at 3,000xg for 10 min at room temperature.
  4. Prepare small aliquots (0.5-1mL) in polypropylene tubes with screw caps and store at −80 °C until analysis.
