Congratulations to Our Residency Graduates

Class of 2021Garren Low, MD, and Denna Zebda, MD, have completed their residencies in otorhinolaryngology-head and neck surgery at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth. Dr. Low leaves UTHealth to begin a fellowship in head and neck surgery at the University of Oregon Health Center in Portland. Dr. Zebda has joined the Department of Otorhinolaryngology here at McGovern Medical School as an assistant professor, and will see patients at the UT Physicians Otolaryngology-Southeast Houston location as a comprehensive otorhinolaryngologist.

“We are proud of this year’s graduates, both of whom are continuing their practice in ways that are meaningful to them and the patients they will care for,” says William C. Yao, MD, program director of the otorhinolaryngology residency and an assistant professor in the department.

Originally from Sacramento, Dr. Low completed his undergraduate studies at the University of California, Berkeley, and earned his medical degree at the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine. Dr. Low was named Resident Educator of the Year in 2020 and 2021. He is a coauthor of articles published in Ear, Nose & Throat Journal, American Journal of Otorhinolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery, and the International Forum of Allergy & Rhinology.

Dr. Zebda grew up in Corpus Christi, Texas, earned her undergraduate degree at Texas A&M University in College Station, TX and received her medical degree at McGovern Medical School. She was named Resident of the Year in 2020 and 2021. She is a co-author of articles published in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, International Forum of Allergy & Rhinology, and Head & Neck.
