Jason D. Talmadge, MD, has joined the Department of Otorhinolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston as an assistant professor and member of UT Physicians Otorhinolaryngology-The Woodlands.
An Ohio native, Dr. Talmadge is a Phi Beta Kappa biochemistry graduate of The Ohio State University, where he also earned his medical degree magna cum laude. He completed residency training in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, where he was named House Officer of the Year in 2017 and was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He went on to complete fellowship training in neurorhinology-advanced rhinology at McGovern Medical School, with UTHealth Rhinology and Skull Base Fellowship co-directors Martin J. Citardi, MD, professor and chair of the department; Amber Luong, MD, PhD, professor and vice chair for research; and William C. Yao, MD, associate professor and director of the residency program.
Dr. Talmadge was recruited from The Medical College of Wisconsin in Kenosha, where he served as a clinical assistant professor for two years. “As a fellow, I really liked working with Dr. Citardi and his team,” he says. “He’s a great leader who is realistic about what is possible, sets clear expectations and goals, and achieves them. I saw an opportunity for more academic involvement, including resident education, working with a great group of very knowledgeable doctors. ENT is a rewarding field with patients who in general have fixable problems that result in a big improvement in quality of life.”
Dr. Talmadge will add strength to the practice at UT Physicians Otorhinolaryngology-The Woodlands, with a goal of continuing to expand comprehensive, high-quality care in the community. He provides full-spectrum ENT care with special expertise in sinus and endoscopic skull base surgery.
