Previously, CME was offered in partnership with The University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston and Baylor College of Medicine.

“Our goals are to expand the number and availability of CME activities within our institution,” says Zi Yang Jiang, MD, associate professor in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, who chaired the institution-wide CME committee that led the effort to achieve accreditation by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME). “We aim to find innovative ways to make education more personalized and accessible, and present educational topics based on current events and clinical trends. We are grateful to UTMB and Baylor College of Medicine for their many years of support and will continue to work together in a collaborative spirit to provide outstanding educational events to learners in Houston and beyond.”

The medical school began the accreditation process with ACCME in 2019 under Dr. Jiang’s leadership. More than 35 programs are available, including new additions such as Otorhinolaryngology Grand Rounds, the Orthopedic Update conference series, and Stroke Grand Rounds.

The medical school’s website uses learning management software to allow learners and administrators to search, find, and confirm CME credits on the learner’s transcript. Click here to access courses, the calendar of events, and past transcripts.
