Congratulations to Our Graduating Residents

Portraits of three otorhinolaryngology residents, Shaina Gong, Amy Leming, and Dylan Vance, Class of 2026 at UTHealth Houston McGovern Medical School.Shaina Gong, MD, Amy Leming, MD, and Dylan Vance, MD, have successfully completed their residency training in otolaryngology-head and neck surgery at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston. All three will graduate from the Department of Otorhinolaryngology and join prestigious fellowship programs.

“We’re extremely proud of the accomplishments of our 2026 graduates during their five years with us and are pleased that they’ve chosen to continue refining their surgical training through fellowship,” says William Yao, MD, chief of rhinology, associate professor, and director of the Otolaryngology Residency Program. “We’ve seen significant growth in each of our three graduating chief residents from both a personal and professional standpoint and as individuals. Drs. Gong, Leming, and Vance have been exemplary residents, and it has been a pleasure to watch them develop their clinical, surgical, and research skills. I’ll be excited to see the impact they make as their careers blossom.”

A graduate of Duke University and McGovern Medical School, Dr. Gong will begin fellowship training in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery at Buckingham Center for Facial Plastic Surgery in Austin, Texas.

Dr. Leming, a graduate of Oklahoma Christian University and the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine, will continue her training in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery at Houston Methodist Hospital.

Dr. Vance is a graduate of Northeastern University and Drexel University College of Medicine and will enter fellowship training in laryngology at Hackensack-Meridian School of Medicine in New Jersey.
