The annual three-day conference has emerged as a dynamic ENT meeting with an agenda reflecting the diverse needs of the Singaporean, regional, and global ENT communities.

Dr. Luong, who represented the American Rhinologic Society as its current president, delivered an opening address and gave a plenary lecture entitled “What Allergic Fungal Rhinosinusitis Teaches Us About the Pathophysiology of Chronic Rhinosinusitis.” She also participated in a round-table discussion of biologics in the management of chronic rhinosinusitis with a lecture entitled, “Management of CRSwNP: When Standard Therapy Is Not Enough.”

“The meeting also highlighted our collaboration with two former Singaporean rhinology fellows,” Dr. Luong says. “Dr. Andy Chua returned to his hometown of Singapore as a rhinologist in academic practice after completion of his fellowship at UTHealth Houston in 2022,” Dr. Luong says. “Dr. Jern-Lin Leong, who directs sinus and allergy services in the Ascent Ear, Nose & Throat Specialist Group, was the first Singaporean doctor to be trained in rhinology and allergy at the Cleveland Clinic, with our current UTHealth Houston departmental chair, Dr. Martin Citardi, as his fellowship director during his service in Cleveland before joining UTHealth Houston.”
