Didactic Program

Didactic sessions are held every Thursday at 7AM. During this time, residents are excused from typical clinical responsibilities.  The first hour is spent alongside the full-time faculty in a conference setting with a rotating schedule of Grand Rounds, Morbidity and Mortality conference, and Facial Trauma Conference. The remaining two hours are comprised of a mix of faculty-led lectures, Journal Club, Radiology Conference and Business of Medicine sessions. Our faculty-led lectures are structured to represent each subspecialty to allow residents to access subspecialty knowledge in addition to foundational Otolaryngology education.

McGovern Campus

• Grand Rounds: 2^nd & 4^th Thursdays at 7am
• Quality Assurance Conference: 1^st Thursdays at 7am
• Interdepartmental Facial Trauma Conference: 3^rd Thursdays at 7am
• Vestibular Conference: 5^th Thursdays at 6:45am
• Head & Neck Interdepartmental Tumor Board: 4^th Thursday at 8am
• Faculty Teaching Conference: 2^nd Friday & 4^th Thursday afternoons

MD Anderson Campus (attended only by the MDA- rotating resident)

• Tuesdays at 5pm – Evening Didactic Conference
• Wednesdays at 5pm- Weekly Core Lecture
• Thursdays at 5pm – Tumor Board Conference
• Fridays at 5pm – Attending Rounds

LBJ Campus

• Weekly on Monday – Week in Preview Conference
• Interdepartmental Head & Neck Tumor Board- 1^st Wednesday at 4pm
