Residency Research
Residents participate in scholarly activity during every year of the residency. As a PGY I and II, a research mentor is identified and a project developed in preparation for the research rotations in the PGY III and IV years. The PGY IIs present their proposed projects to the department during a Grand Rounds Lecture, allowing for diverse feedback and further refinement with the mentor. Residents are expected to take the lead in the IRB process and are also encouraged to apply for outside grants which support the expenses of the projects alongside departmental funds.
