Child Advocates of Fort Bend Fellowship Rotation
Since January 2022, Child Advocates of Fort Bend (CAFB) has cooperated with UTHealth’s child and adolescent psychiatry rotation. On Mondays, an advanced fellow and attending psychiatrist from the Louis A. Faillace, MD, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston treat referrals from and at the advocacy center. These professionals provide comprehensive and collaborative trauma-informed psychiatric care for eligible children and adolescents at CAFB. As of November 2023, the rotation has completed 106 appointments. Eight medical fellows from McGovern have completed this community-trauma rotation.
