Circle of Security
The Circle of Security program is a partnership among UTHealth, BakerRipley, and the Infant Toddler Court Team in Fort Bend County. This partnership aims to increase caregiver knowledge on topics related to early childhood development and well-being as well as teach parents the specific relational and emotional needs of young children and how to best support these needs using the Circle of Security Parenting ™ model (COSP™). COSP™ is a program based on decades of attachment research about how to increase emotional and relational security in parent-child relationships.
Curriculum Goals:
- Understand and support their child’s emotional and relational needs
- Enhance the development of their child’s self-esteem and sense of security
- Be a “good enough parent” rather than a perfect parent
- Feel more confident as a parent
