Visiting Professor Title

We are pleased to announce that UTHealth Houston has developed a process for departments to request a “Visiting Professor Title” for distinguished visitors who will be on campus for a defined time (e.g., one week), providing a seminar or two or participating in medical/scientific conferences hosted by UTHealth Houston.

Mentoring and Promotion Program (MAPP)

The Mentoring and Promotion Program (MAPP) will help our junior faculty chart their unique path to success in the context of a group mentoring format. The application for the 2023-2024 year closed on November 3, 2023.

New track: Non-Tenure Instruction Track

Effective 9/1/2019, faculty whose primary focus is teaching may be appointed on the newly created Non-Tenure Instruction (NTI) track. Click here for details.

 

Accelerated Promotion for Non-Tenure Clinical Track

Faculty considering applying for promotion with less than 5 years of service in current rank are considered accelerated and must satisfy rigorous criteria above and beyond normal expectations that have been recently codified by the FAPTC (click here for criteria). Chairs and faculty are strongly urged to consult the Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs before submitting a request for accelerated promotion.
