University of Texas McGovern Medical School, Department of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery professor, Dr. Tom Nguyen has been selected as 2019 Co-Chair for the Society of Thoracic Surgeon’s annual meeting of Tech-Con.
The annual STS/AATS Tech-Con Meeting focuses on the latest technologies and newest developments in cardiothoracic surgery. The convention offers two separate focuses on recent innovation; one surrounding the topic of adult cardiac surgery, the other in general thoracic surgery.
Medical professionals in attendance of the annual meeting have the opportunity to present on innovative products, tools, devices, and surgical equipment followed by a review of panel experts, including Dr. Nguyen.
In addition to Dr. Nguyen’s appointed position for next year’s 2019 STS/AATS Tech-Con, he also was chosen to moderate the topic of this year’s discussion on Adult Cardiac Track III: Contemporary and Future Mitral Valve and Atrial Fibrillation Practice. This year’s 54th annual meeting which was held on Saturday, January 27th in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
